From Classroom to Kitchen: The Start of Mighton’s Organic
In late 2021, I stepped away from my full time role in a school to start my own business. At the time, we did not have a fixed plan. We only knew one thing. Whatever we created had to help people. At the time, my auntie introduced me to sea moss and its potential health benefits. It was completely new to me. She showed me how to prepare it properly and something clicked. I realised this was something simple, natural and accessible that could genuinely support people’s wellbeing.
I began making it from our kitchens. Word spread. Demand grew. Before long, I took the next step and started listing products on Amazon, turning a small home operation into a growing business with a wider reach.

Today, I bring both roles together. As Director of Mighton’s Organic and as a mentor, I use The Lab as a space where young people can gain real work experience and achieve food hygiene qualifications, while we continue producing sea moss gel to the highest standard possible.
Since moving beyond Amazon, our focus has shifted. We are strengthening our own platforms, improving our website, refining our customer support line and building stronger connections within our local community.
